Anaïs Nin Night
On Tuesday, July 21st
Hot Literati Member and writer Marissa Vivian lead our New York Chapter through Anaïs Nin Night.

It was a crazy day in New York, as a storm broke and we all got notifications of a tornado warning! But still, we gathered as a group to celebrate life, literature, and Hot Literati.
Part One
First, everyone trickled in LES Wines on Ludlow street and we checked them in. Attendees were each given a bottle of Les Cahiers Secrets-- a scent inspired by Nin, specifically in Henry and June. Then, we divided everyone into two groups to discuss Nin and come up with their own contemporary characters.
The groups came up with everything from angsty trust fund babies to 90 year old men obsessed with Audrey Hepburn.

Part Two
Once everyone was warmed up, we split into three different groups to write scenes set in the present day but inspired by Nin. The groups requested backing tracks and performed their skits in front of the curated wine selection. We laughed, we pointed, we got over ourselves and had a good time.
Part Three
Then, most importantly, we hung out. A box of white roses mysteriously appeard at the door, and everyone left with a rose, perfume, and new friends from the Hot Literati Universe.
